  • Vigur Island, a small Family owned island for over 100 years. Historically they relied upon the income from Eider Down and sheep. Now they rely mostly on Eider down and Tourism, telling about the process. This is an interesting place to learn about the defensiveness of Arctic Terns, who will protect their nesting area fiercely. Visitors hold sticks with flags over their heads to convince the terns to attack the flags instead of their heads.

  • Willy Wells pilots a Grand Banks dory along the Lunenburg waterfront in front of the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic. Lunenburg was one of the main places for manufacture of these dorys, used since 1850. Visitors can see dory's still bing made at The Dory Shop in Lunenburg.

  • Early morning hike from Kingsport Beach to Paddy's Island, a rock sticking out of the Minas Basin. Located at the end of the Bay of Fundy, tides can range up to 12 meters. The only way to reach this small island is at low tide by taking a 1 1/2 hour walk from the Kingsport public beach. <br />

  • Darren Hudson, jumps over washed up lobster traps on The Cape, a barrier island that marks Nova Scotia's furthest south point. The Cape is home to the Cape Sable Lighthouse. Getting to the Cape requires a short boat ride. Every August a crew of volunteers brings hundreds of visitors to see this secluded spot. Also the people of Barrington are very friendly and if you ask around you can probably find someone to bring you there. The Mayor is even known to take visitors to the Cape regularly.
